The seven independently produced nominated shorts included five live action and two animated shorts. Available to view for free via iTunes were the following live action films: Javier Fesser's Binta And The Great Idea; Eramos Pocos (One Too Many); Soren Pilmark's Helmer & Son; Peter Templeman's The Saviour and the eventual Best Live Action Short Film Oscar winner, Ari Sandel's West Bank Story. The two animated shorts were Geza M Toth's Maestro and the eventual Best Animated Short Film Oscar winner, Torill Kove's The Danish Poet.
