Rob Springer has joined Overture Films as senior vice president of sales operations and Kevin Monroe has come aboard as vice president of business and legal affairs.

Springer assumes responsibility for the operational aspect of the studio's distribution unit, which includes box office research, reporting and analysis, as well as control over the implementation and operations of the Theatrical Distribution System.

He will report to Overture's executive vice president of distribution Kyle Davies.

Prior to Overture, Springer served as vice president of operations for Rentrak International and executive director sales administration for Paramount Pictures.

Monroe will be responsible for general production business and legal affairs duties including negotiating and drafting development and production agreements. He will report to Overture's senior vice president of business and legal affairs Justin Alvarado-Brown.

He most recently served as senior counsel in the business and legal affairs department of the Walt Disney Motion Pictures Group.

Production was scheduled to begin in London this week on Overture's romance Last Chance Harvey starring Dustin Hoffman and Emma Thompson.
