Pathe UK has confirmed it is taking over 11 titles from FilmFour, the UK film operation being scaled back by broadcasting parent Channel 4.

Pathe will handle UK distribution and international sales on the package, which includes Motorcycle Diaries, To Kill A King, It's All About Love and Once Upon A Time In The Midlands. Pathe has also taken over sole distribution of Jeepers Creepers II, Wrong Turn and Bullet Proof Monk, which were co-acquired by the two companies.

Video and DVD sell-through rights on the 11 titles remain with VCI, while Channel 4 keeps free and pay-TV rights. Another UK distributor, Momentum Pictures, is expected to take over The Actors, starring Michael Caine, but the fate of Buffalo Soldiers, which recently tanked in Germany, is unclear.

The 11-title package also includes Bodysong, Emperor's New Clothes, Gerry, Principles Of Lust, Cypher, Touching The Void and Miranda.

"On behalf of all of the filmmakers and our team at FilmFour who have worked so hard to give us these marvelous pictures, I have only one thing to say: if it couldn't be us then I am very relieved it's going to be them," said Paul Webster, chief executive of FilmFour.
