The ATX Television Festival has announced its first pitch competition in collaboration with Final Draft for aspiring writers to pitch original ideas for a scripted series to top television decision makers.

A panel of professionals will judge 25 semi-finallists chosen by ATX. The panel includes the creator and producer of Scrubs and Cougar Town Bill Lawrence and the creator of Revenge Liz Tigelaar, among others.

“I’m a life-long TV nerd and I’m all for ATX Television Festival because it’s such a fun way to bring television fans together,” said Lawrence. ” The Pitch Competition offers fans an opportunity to get into the industry which is another reason anyone attending ATX Television Festival should consider themselves lucky.”

The finallists will be announced on Feb 18 and the top ten finallists will be revealed on Mar 28. The ten finallists will compete in Austin, Texas, from Jun 6-9 culminating in the announcement of a single winner.
