Edward Noeltner’s Cinema Management Group has commenced talks with Toronto buyers on the story of a disturbed middle-aged man who resolves to film a poltergeist in his new house.
Kevin Farley directed and stars in Paranormal Movie and Benjamin Scott, Olga Segura and Jesse Baget produced. Helga Olafsson and Arcadyiy Golubovich served as executive producers.
The cast includes Eric Roberts, Tom Sizemore, Carly Craig, William Katt, Nicky Whelan and Maria Menunos.
“The found footage movie genre is as popular as ever”, writer Lisa Baget said. “I watch these types of films and see countless comedic possibilities and felt the Paranormal films were perfect spoof material.”
Farley, who starred in the David Zucker comedy An American Carol said: “I learned a lot from An American Carol. The one thing I know is that parody is good if it’s done right. Having done this type of film with David, it’s amazing to learn from the best and then make your own, and this film is homage to the Zucker Brothers style.”
