D Films announced on Monday [29] that pre-production will begin on Aug 20 on thriller The Scarehouse in Windsor, Canada.

Co-writer Gavin Michael Booth will direct and D Films serve as executive producer with the support of Telefilm Canada.

The Scarehouse is the story of six sorority sisters in a Halloween funhouse who must face their past.

D Films will release The Scarehouse theatrically in North America in the first quarter of 2014 and Universal handles ancillary. D Films also handles international sales.

“I am ecstatic to be working with D Films and Universal in bringing my vision for The Scarehouse to the big screen,” said Booth.
