The screenplay, which is based on the experiences of Resistance fighter Vera Laska, has been written by Caitlin McCarthy.

UK production company Populus Pictures is developing Caitlin McCarthy’s screenplay, Resistance, which is based on an interview given by WWII Resistance fighter Vera Laska at Steven Spielberg’s USC Shoah Foundation.

The film, which will be seen through the eyes of Vera as a young girl who is forced to grow up quickly as she moves from the school yard to Auschwitz, will be directed by Si Wall.

Roland Peters and Len Evans of Populus Pictures “Caitlin McCarthy’s screenplay brings Vera Laska’s feelings of oppression and tension to life, and illustrates how Vera quickly became a woman to survive in a Nazi state at any cost.”
