Von Trier says he is doing extensive research for the project.

Stellan Skarsgard looks certain to renew his collaboration with Lars Von Trier on Von Trier’s next project, Nymphomania. Producer Peter Aalbæk Jensen hasn’t confirmed Skarsgard’s casting but sources close to the production have stated: “Stellan is the lead.”

Skarsgard himself has given an interview to E! News saying he would be appearing.

“Lars called me and said ‘Stellan, my next film will be a porno film, and I want you to play the lead in it,’” Skarsgard said.

Von Trier has also revealed further details about the film. In an interview with The Independent, the Danish director said he had already conducted extensive research for the project, which is about ‘the erotic life of a woman from the age of zero to the age of 50.’

“I am talking to all the girls from when I was young who were screwing around like hell. It’s so much fun. They talk for three hours. Even if the film, for some reason, doesn’t come to be, I am having a fantastic time researching. Maybe it’s not a good sign but I am really excited by this project,” Von Trier stated.

Skarsgard and Von Trier have a collaboration going back many years. The Swedish actor starred in Breaking The Waves (1996) and was also seen in Von Trier’s most recent film, Melancholia.
