Italian sales agent Rai Trade has closed a string of sales ahead of next month's Berlin and AFM markets on Jurij, a drama directed by Stefano Gabrini starring Charles Dance and Sarah Miles.

The movie, about a blind 10-year-old violin prodigy, has been sold to Japan's Gaga, Mexico's Quality Film, South America's LapTV, China's Paravision and Australia's Palace Film.

Scored by Oscar-winner Leonardo Rosenman, whose credits include Barry Lyndon and Bound For Glory, the picture was produced by The Bottom Line in collaboration with Rai Cinema and Telepiu.

The film screened at this year's Palm Springs festival, along with a host of other Italian pictures including Nanni Moretti's The Son's Room, Vincenzo Marra's Venice critics prize-winner Sailing Home and Francisco Jose Fernandez's Ti Voglio Bene Eugenio.

Rai Trade's sales slate also includes Nina di Majo's Berlin Film Festival title Winter (Inverno) and Santa Maradona, a film about two twenty-something football fans from Turin, as well as Resurrection, the Taviani brothers epic film based on the Tolstoy novel.
