Andrea Arnold's Red Road has added Best Film at the Lloyds TSB BAFTA Scotland awards to its previous honours, including the Cannes Jury Prize and five BIFA nominations.

The win was universally predicted, as was the film's easy dominance of theevening's other film prizes - Best Actress for Kate Dickie, BestActor for Tony Curran, and both Best Screenplay and Best Director for AndreaArnold.

This meant a clean sweep of the major prizes for a film that hadfaced little significant competition. There were only six potential nominees from the past year of Scottish feature film productions.

The Flying Scotsman and True North were the onlyother titles to make it to the final shortlist andboth were left empty-handed in an evening hosted by television presenter Lorraine Kelly.
