Richard was integral to the making of 45 Years. Without the funding from Creative England, and the support of a regional film fund - for a regional film - we could not have made 45 Years as it is. Richard was both a champion, and a devil's advocate. Always putting the case for what he felt best for the film, whilst giving us the space to work in our own way.

I have been the receiver of good news, 45 Years, but also bad news, on projects Richard felt he had to pass on. He was always fair, open, honest, and confident in his opinions. Never afraid to put his head above the parapet for what he believed was right. I can ask no more than that.

An excellent exec, and a loss to Creative England.
