I'm sad and confused about this, because I see Richard as an incredibly knowledgeable producer with vast hands-on experience, placing him in an invaluable and unrivalled position at Creative England. I can't understand why cuts had to be made here - it seems like they're taking away essential English film services. Why are such substantial cuts necessary, and could they really not have been made elsewhere, away from frontline support for filmmakers? More transparency really is needed.

Richard cares so much about the filmmakers he works with - he's so supportive and generous with his time and advice - so this is a real loss for English filmmakers!
