The Hurt Locker fully deserved to win in every catergory in which it was successful. It's a magnificent film. Bigelow won as best director because in this short list she was considered to be exactly that. When i voted, i gave no consideration to the fact that the director is a woman and i'd be surprised if many of the other people voting did either. It's simply not important what sex she is,-- she's a great director..
