It's highly unlikely that any filmmaker would ever want this role at the heart of a complex bureaucracy like the BFI, let alone have the mentality for it. A mis-match of skills if there ever was one.

Many institutions (including sadly the old BFI) are blighted by mal-functioning administration that badly hinders the work of the creatives. This role matters and on the face of it a promising appointment.
