I can't see the point in potentially hasty revisions already.
New Artistic Director, Re-instating the Michael Powell award, Moving dates back to August. The 2011 only finished a week ago. Would not the board be best to review 2011, from top to toe - agree 2012 budget, prioritise the content of programme or the perceived Red Carpet approach. EIFF used to have major directors at the humble location in Randolph Crescent receiving Scorsese, Huston, Terayama (bursting through the screen!) Edinburgh is a red carpet city and was a red carpet event! A scraggy length of carpet is missing the point!
Bring back the much cherished programme and retrospective publications. Forget the UKFC funding and it's effect on EIFF, look forward to an EIFF restoring its cultural platform.
