Film-maker Rutger Hauer will again host a masterclass during The International Film Festival Rotterdam (IFFR, Jan 23- Feb 3, 2008).

The second Rutger Hauer Filmfactory, Jan 21-31, will invite 30 international film-makers to work with Hauer and other experts to make 12 short films.

In addition to direction, writing, camera, production and editing, this year's instruction will also include lighting.

Film-makers can register at www.filmfactoryrotterdam.com.

'Last year a dream came true for me. For twenty years I have cherished the wish to make this happen,' said Rutger Hauer. 'That the dream is sustainable and that we can repeat it is just fantastic.'

This year's coaches haven't been revealed, but last year's experts included producer San Fu Maltha, dop Robby Muller, and editors Job ter Burg. Hauer has hinted that his friends from the US business might attend this year's session.

Participants will be divided in groups of six: screenwriter, director, cinematographer, gaffer, producer, and editor.

The masterclass will cover topics such as working instinctively, using what is available and telling plausible stories.

The Filmfactory is supported by INHOLLAND University, Rotterdam Film Fund and Development Corporation City Rotterdam.
