The San Sebastian and Toulouse film festivals' joint fundinginitiative, Films in Progress, has announced the seven Latin American titlesinvited to participate in this year's sixth edition, including first-timeentries from Brazil and Uruguay.

The projects seek assistance to complete post-production.Various privately sponsored awards provide additional incentive to chosenfilms. The screenings will take place September 21-22 during the Donostia-SanSebastian International Film Festival (Sept 17-25). This year's event will alsoinclude a presentation of 40 screenplays from the second annual Course on theDevelopment of Latin American Film Projects organized in Madrid by the Casa deAmerica and the Fundacion Carolina.

The titles, selected from 52 entries, include: Alma mater, by Alvaro Buela (Uruguay); Cinema, Aspirina E Urubus, by MarceloGomes (Brazil); Iluminados Por El Fuego,by Tristan Bauer (Argentina); El MalboroY El Cucu, by Javier Patron Fox (Mexico); Ronda Nocturna, by Edgardo Cozarinsky (Argentina); La Sagrada Familia, by Sebastian Campos(Chile); and O Veneno Da Madrugada,by Ruy Guerra (Brazil).
