FilmFunds, the web site aimed at filmmakers and financiers, has recruited entertainment and technology entrepreneur Jason Scoggins to lead new initiatives as CEO.

Scoggins will shepherd the company’s expansion into mainstream film and TV product and the coverage of insider Hollywood information, targeting entertainment professionals and fans.

“I’m really excited about the opportunity to build a site that meets the needs of entertainment pros as well as the needs of movie lovers around the world,” Scoggins said. “Our goal is to make FilmFunds the go-to site for everyone who’s big into movies and TV.”

Scoggins, a former television literary agent, previously founded ItsontheGrid.com, an industry database he sold to The Wrap. He will join Christian Paris, who serves as president of FilmFunds 3D, which polls public opinion on 3D conversions.

New initiatives for California-based FilmFunds, which was launched last autumn, include FilmFunds Bankers, a service that matches filmmakers with organizations offering funding.
