Directed by Agnieszka Holland, this portrait of writer and literary icon Franz Kafka premiered this year in Toronto as a special presentation. Kafka is played by Idan Weiss in his first major role.
The film sees Holland follow in the footsteps of her protagonist, building a mosaic from the most important moments of his life. It also toggles between his short life and the present day, where Holland shows how his name is used to sell everything from hamburgers to key chains.
