Joe Ross Special effects make up artist Joseph Ross died recently at the age of 52. Ross' career in the film and television industry spanned more than thirty years. He was a child actor in the 1960's, appearing in films such as Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. He then worked as a theatre prop maker and on scenic construction. Later he moved into the film and television industry and specialised in prosthetics on films such as An American Werewolf In London, The Elephant Man, Krull, Greystoke and Life Force. In 1996, he headed his own department as co-coordinator for the prosthetic and animatronic effects on Paramount pictures Event Horizon. He was special effects liaison on Gerry Bruckheimer's Pearl Harbor in 2001. He went on to have similar roles in films such as Pearl Harbor and The Fourth Angel.
