Next year's International Screenwriters' Festival has launched its 2008 pitching event in association with 4Talent at Channel 4.

Pitch In Time will give hopeful writers a chance to appeal to an industry panel in front of a live audience at the event in Cheltenham (July 1-3).

Previous panels have included Oscar winner Julian Fellowes (Gosford Park) andMichael Goldenberg (Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix).

Part of the prize for shortlisted writers is a pitching masterclass during the festival with leading agent Julian Friedmann.

'Giving both established writers and new talent a chance to showcase their talent before producers and developers from all over the world and find outlets for their stories is a key part of the Festival, ' says SWF Festival Director David Pearson.

'Channel 4 has been at the Festival every year now, and each time I've been amazed at the quality of the programme,' said James Estill, Senior Producer, 4Talent.
