Serbian comedy The Secret Of The Family Treasure has set a record for the first quarter of 2000 at the Serbian box office by racking up admissions of 126,000 in just 12 days across ten cities.

The film, based on a popular TV series of the same name, is distributed by Belgrade-based Metro Film. Foreign fare is lagging far behind although French titles Joan Of Arc, with 60,000 admissions, and East-West, which has so far sold 50,000 tickets, are both performing strongly. Both titles are also distributed by Metro.

Serbian title Sky Hook, the first film to receive a pan-Yugoslav release since the collapse for the former Yugoslavia, had a respectable opening selling 36,000 tickets in its first four days.
