Distributor takes on Uncle Boonmee, Of Gods and Men, A Screaming Man and other competition titles.

Belgrade-based distributor Megacom Film has picked up rights to eight Cannes competition films for the territories of former Yugoslavia.

Megacom’s slate now includes the Palme d’Or winner Uncle Boonmee Who Can Recall His Past Lives, Grand Jury Prize winner Of Gods And Men and Jury Prize winner A Screaming Man. The company has also acquired rights to Poetry, awarded for best script, and Certified Copy for which Juliette Binoche won the best actress prize.

Besides award winners, Megacom will distribute Ken Loach’s Route Irish, Kornel Mundruczo’s Tender Son- The Frankenstein Project and Wang Xiaoshuai’s Chongqing Blues.

In pre-sales, the distribution company secured rights to Lars von Trier’s Melancholia, Tom Tykwer’s Three, Sam Garbarski’s Vertraute Fremde, Alex de la Iglesia’s A Sad Trumpet Ballad, Walter Salles’ On The Road, Aki Kaurismaki’s Le Havre, Istvan Szabo’s The Door, Nanni Moretti’s We Have A Pope and the Dardenne brothers’ untitled project.
