Having already celebrated becoming the first studio toproduce two $100m animated hits in a single year in North America, DreamWorksAnimation can cheer again this week as SharkTale passed $100m internationally.
It was DreamWorks' fifth $100m international hit, following1998's 2-D The Prince Of Egypt($117.2m), 2000's stop-motion animation ChickenRun ($118m) and 2001 3-D smash Shrek($210.8m) and its sequel Shrek 2($441m), which opened earlier this year.
Last weekend's $9.2m gross taken through UIP was led by athird successful pole position weekend in the UK where the film added $4.5m(£2.4m), just 24% down from the previous weekend.
The UK is by far the film's most successful territory todate representing a massive 35% of the current international total with acumulative gross of $36m.
Russia provided the highest new territory release of theweek with a $1.5m four-day weekend.
