The Sheffield International Documentary Festival has created a newpitching programme, The MeetMarket,to be launched at this year's festival (Oct 30-Nov 5).

The Documentary Filmmakers Group is presenting and coordinating the new programme. Selected documentary ideas will be presented inone-minute pitch trailers made available online to buyers before the festival.They will select which film-makers they will meet during the event.

"We already have very good established pitching competitions, and The MeetMarket willadd to the many formal and informal settings we provide for people to pitchtheir projects," said Sheffield's new director Heather Croall. "We have a record number of international buyersattending Sheffield this year - so The MeetMarket willbe a great way to meet buyers from all over the world."

MeetMarket is open to all kinds of documentaryprojects and applications are available at the festival website.
