Sex & Drugs & Rock & Roll will start shooting on May 3 in London.

It follows the journey of British singer-songwriter Ian Dury and centres on his early fight for life and harsh upbringing through his rise to fame.

Crippled by polio as a ten year-old boy, Dury went on to become one of the key founders of the punk movement in the late Seventies.

The film is directed by BAFTA-nominee and Silver Bear recipient Mat Whitecross and stars Andy Serkis, Naomie Harris, Ray Winstonem, Olivia Williams. Damian Jones (History Boys, Kidulthood) is producing.

Worldwide sales are being handled by Odyssey Entertainment, while Entertainment Film Distributors have acquired UK rights to the film.
