The latest figures from industry data tracker Nielsen EDIshow that contrary to early figures from UIP Shrek 2 has actually recorded the highest ever three-day opening inSpain.

The animated sequel claimed Euros 6.1m, finishing ahead oflast year's The Lord Of The Rings: TheReturn Of The King which set the previous three-day record of Euros 5.99m.

Shrek 2 actuallyopened on Wednesday (June 30) in Spain and has taken Euros 8.3m in total overthe five day period from 1.7m admissions.
