Spanish distributor On Pictureshas acquired rights to four new films from local producer Alquimia Cinema.

The deal, which is expected to be expanded onin the next few days, encompasses theatrical and DVD/video rights inSpain. It is the first agreement of its kind for new distributor On,backed by media conglomerate Grupo Zeta, and only its third acquisitionannounced to date.

The films will be released in thesecond half of the year. They include: Marcelo Pineyro's drama The GronholmConspiracy (El Metodo Gronholm), set against the world of executiverecruiting; youth comedy Condom Express (Condon Express); EnriqueGabriel's ensemble drama Small Lives (Vidas Pequenas); and Your LifeIn 65 Minutes (Tu Vida En 65') from director Maria Ripoll.

Your Life is currently shooting in Barcelona; the remaining three films are inpost-production. Sales consortium Latido Films signed international rights onthe same slate of Alquimia films earlier this year.

Alquimia is acommercially-oriented production house founded by Francisco Ramos. Theconnection with On makes sense: Ramos previously ran Aurum Producciones when itwas owned by Grupo Zeta.
