Spain's Sogepaq has acquired international rights to two high-profile third-party films: much-anticipated new release Football Days (Dias De Futbol) and four-time Malaga winner Torremolinos 73.

The deal links the Sogecable group's Sogepaq to successful indie producer Telespan 2000, the co-producer with broadcaster Telecinco's film arm Estudios Picasso of both films as well as last year's biggest-grossing local hit The Other Side Of The Bed (El Otro Lado De La Cama), handled internationally by Lions Gate Films International.

David Serrano's Football Days reunites the writer, co-producers and much of the cast behind The Other Side Of The Bed in a comedy about a group of 30-something losers whose only outlet is their neighborhood football team. Buena Vista International is planning a wide release in Spain for later this month.

After winning the four top awards at last May's Spanish Film Festival of Malaga, debut feature director Pablo Berger's retro-tragicomedy Torremolinos 73 went on to excellent international reception at the recent Edinburgh Film Festival. It is set to premiere in Danish co-producer Nimbus Film's home territory this week.

Sogepaq will take both films to MIFED.
