Former Spice Girl Melanie Brown is living up to her Scary nickname by starring in LD 50, a psychological thriller form UK producer-financier Random Harvest.

The story of a group of animal rights activists trapped in a disused lab where they become the subjects of the experiments, is being directed by theatre director Simon De Selva from a script by newcomer Matthew McGuchan.

Also starring are Katharine Towne and Tom Hardy. Shooting has just started on the Isle of Man and Pinewood Studios. The production is the second after Octane to come out of Random Harvest's genre label Four Horsemen Films, which has a video-driven deal with Buena Vista International for Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
