Star Chinese Movies isinvesting in three high-definition films to be executive produced byaward-winning Hong Kong filmmaker Derek Yee.

The first of the threefilms, love story Pandora's Booth,started filming last week in Hong Kong. Starring Hong Kong popidols Fiona Sit and Kenny Kwan, the film is directed by Mak Kai-kwong whostarted his film career in 1989 and previously directed comedy Dummy Mommy, Without A Baby.

The three films will havetheir television premiere on Star Chinese Movies which is available on variousplatforms in Hong Kong, Singapore, Taiwan and the Philippines.

Yee was named best directorat the Hong Kong Film Awards in 1994 and 2004 for C'est La Vie, Mon Cheri and OneNite In Mongkok respectively. His most recent work includes Lost In Time, 2 Young and Drink Drank Drunk.

Star Chinese Movies is alsoinvesting in the Focus: First Cuts series of HD films that are being producedby Andy Lau's Hong Kong-based production company Focus Films with regionalpartners.
