HanWay Films is starting worldwide sales here at the AFM on Gurinder Chadha's next film, It's A Wonderful Afterlife.

The family comedy will start shooting in February 2009.

Chadha bills the project as My Big Fat Greek Wedding meets Shaun Of The Dead. The film is set in multi-cultural London, where a mother's comic obsession to marry-off her daughter leads to murder.

Chadha writes and produces with her husband Paul Berges. Chris Curling of Zephyr Films executive produces.

Hanway CEO Tim Haslam said: 'Gurinder's exceptional body of work includes the distinctive Bend It Like Beckham, Bride and Prejudice, and Angus Thongs and Perfect Snogging - commercial feel-good multi-generational films - loved by under 18s and over 45s alike.'

HanWay's current slate also includes Jon Ameils' Darwin drama Creation starring Paul Bettany and Jennifer Connelly; Michael Caine-starring Harry Brown and Scott Hicks' Clive Owen-starring The Boys Are Back In Town, previously handled by Capitol Films.
