Rupert Wyatt's Sundance selection The Escapist has been sold to several key territories.
Deals have been done for Australia (Rialto), Scandinavia (Sandrew Metrodome) and Europe's IndieCircle (Lucky Red in Italy, Haut et Court in France, Cineart in Benelux, and Frenetic in Switzerland.)
Mirjam Wertheim negotiated the deal for Orange Entertainment (on behalf of the distributors) with Tristan Whalley and Nicki Parfitt of UK-based sales company Goalpost Films.
Vertigo will release in the UK in April on more than 200 prints; US buyers are still circling.
The UK/Irish co-production, produced by Adrian Sturges and Alan Moloney, is about a convict who plan a prison escape to see his ill daughter. The cast includes Brian Cox, Joseph Fiennes, Liam Cunningham, Seu Jorge, Dominic Cooper, Steven Mackintosh and Damien Lewis.
