The Hong Kong International Film Festival (HKIFF) has announced that Kiefer Sutherland, William Hurt and Oliver Stone will be attending the33rd edition of the festival which kicks off later this month (March 22-April 13).

Sutherland and DreamWorks Animation CEO Jeffrey Katzenberg will be on hand to present Monsters Vs. Aliens which receives its Asian premiere at the festival.

Hurt and Academy Award-winning producer Arthur Cohn will present Udayan Prasad's The Yellow Handkerchief, while Stone will talk about W. Both films are also receiving their Asian premieres at the festival.

HKIFF also announced that there is 58% increase in the number of registered filmmakers, celebrities and guests compared to 2008. There will also be an increase in Meet the Audience sessions from 64 last year to 106 this year.

Meet The Audience sessions will also feature Polish director Jerzy Skolimowski, who will talk about Four Nights With Anna, which won best director at the Polish Film Awards earlier this week.

The HKIFF Society also co-organises the Hong Kong-Asia Film Financing Forum (HAF), which takes place March 23-25, and the Asian Film Awards which will be held on March 23.
