Pedro Almodovar's Talk To Her took both best film and best director prizes at the first competitive edition of the Bangkok international film festival.

The fifth edition of the festival ended last night, with other Golden Kinnarees awarded to Michael Cain for best actor for The Quiet American, Kati Outen received the best actress award for The Man Without A Past, with the film's director Aki Kaurismaki taking the award for best script.

The festival, which overlapped with both The Golden Globes and Sundance ran from Jan 10-21 and screened over 100 films, while the competition started on Jan 17 and featured 11 titles:

Local reports claim that some 80% of the festival screenings were sold out, an impressive debut for festival executive director Patrick de Bokay.
