Active market buyer Tartan Films has picked up UK rights to TheDevil And Daniel Johnston, the documentaryabout a cult musician which won Jeff Feuerzeig the directing prize at Sundancelast month.

The film is being sold by Jeremy Barber of talent agency UTA,who negotiated with Tartan's Jane Giles. A US deal is expected to closein the next days.

"This is an extraordinary film about a trulyextraordinary character," said Tartan principal Hamish MacAlpine.

Tartanalso grabbed UK rights to Another Public Enemy, the hit sequel to director KangWoo-suk's revenge thriller Public Enemy. The film is sold by CinemaService, the Korean major that Kang founded and still chairs.
