Cinema legend Elizabeth Taylor will once again be hosting the Cinema AIDS Venice gala dinner during the Venice film festival later this month.

The charity events, which include auctions of luxury items in support of the American Foundation For AIDS Research (amFAR), have been a regular feature of film festivals during the past several years. Cannes, Sundance and Venice have all been venues for the dinners, which have raised more than $10m for AIDs research, prevention and education, and been hosted by the likes of Taylor, Sharon Stone and Demi Moore.

The dinner, whose co-sponsors include BMG Entertainment, the music division of German media company Bertelsmann AG, will take place at the Fondazione Giorgi Cini on the island of San Giorgio on August 31 as part of the 58th festival.
