The Glasgow Film Festival is calling for submissions for next year’s event, which will run from February 18 – 28.

The sixth edition of the festival, which will run in venues across the Scottish city, is seeking features, shorts and work in all genres. The deadline for entries is October 30.

The festival aims to support Scottish talent as well as providing audiences with the opportunity to see a selection of world cinema. This year saw European and UK premieres including In The Loop, Last Chance Harvey, Gran Torino and Everlasting Moments. Films selected through the submission process include Unrelated, Outlands and The Dungeon Moor Killings.

“We always hope to make some exciting discoveries during the submission process,” says festival co-director Allan Hunter, who is also a correspondent for ScreenDaily. “The growing success of the festival means that the word continues to spread and that attracts great audiences.

“We have consistently selected films through the submission process that have been given high profile slots with the festival and in some cases gone on to secure UK theatrical distribution. We are really looking forward to the hidden gems awaiting us among this year’s films.”
