London-based sales house TheWorks has struck a raft of deals out of last month's Cannes festival on its twocompetition titles, Clean and TheConsequences Of Love.

Clean, forwhich Maggie Cheung won best actress, went to LNK for Portugal, Lumiere forBenelux, PCV for Greece and Cyprus, Imovision for Brazil and Intersonic forHungary and the Czech and Slovak Republics. ARP is releasing the film in Francein September, while Matrix is opening it in the UK in the autumn.

Italiancompetition film The Consequences Of Love sold to Ocean in France and Budapest Film inHungary. The film will be released in Italy through Medusa in early autumn.

The Works also sold its newacquisition, Erik Van Looy's dark thriller TheAlzheimer Case, to Comstock for Japan, Cinemedia for Turkey and Intersonicfor Hungary and the Czech and Slovak Republics. Pre-sales on Saul Metzstein's Guy X saw PCV taking Greece and Cyprus,while Intersonic came on board for Hungary and the Czech and SlovakRepublics.

Currently shooting in Italy, Ticket, directed by Ermanno Olmi, AbbasKiarostami and Ken Loach, pre-sold to Prooptiki for territoies includingGreece, most of former Yugoslovai, Romania and Bulgaria.

MG Film International picked up rights toMichael Winterbottom's Code 46 andJohn Boorman's Country Of My Skullfor most of ex-Yugoslavia. Code 46also sold to CNC for Benelux and to Tiberius Film for Germany and Austria. A USdeal was finalised with Larry Meistrich's Film Movement for Deepa Mehta'sromantic comedy The Republic Of Love.
