The 13th Thessaloniki Documentary Film Festival-Images of the 21st Century (March 11-20) screened more than 220 films.
Guests included Amir Bar-Lev, Tom Jarmusch (brother of Jim), and Sergei Loznitsa, in town for a retrospective and masterclass. The Doc Film Market presented a record number of 535 titles.
Organiser the European Film Academy says it wants to “steer away from generic scripts dominated by award categories and acceptance speeches.”
Writer-director Sakaris Stora’s film debuted at Goteborg in January.
