Stewart Till, former president of Universal Pictures International, has joined the board of leading UK TV company Tiger Aspect.

Till joins the outfit's holding board as a non-executive director and will also take a position on the board of film arm Tiger Aspect Pictures. He joins with immediate effect.

The move follows Till appointment last week to the board of directors at UK film-to-Internet operation Redbus Film Group (RFG) in a part-time but executive role.

At Tiger, Till is expected to advise on areas including new media and international marketing and rights. Tiger Aspect is building its feature presence after developing its TV series Bean into a feature with Working Title Films and PolyGram Filmed Entertainment, where Till was president of international. Tiger Aspect Pictures now has long-term backing from Working Title.

The first film from Tiger Aspect Pictures is another TV series adaptation, Kevin & Perry Go Large, which is being backed by Icon Entertainment International.

Tiger chief Peter Bennett-Jones said: "I first worked with Stewart on Bean. He masterminded the sale of over 10 million Bean video units internationally and the worldwide release of Bean - The Ultimate Disaster Movie. We have subsequently had a great time working together on a range of television comedy and drama projects and on the formation of Tiger Aspect Pictures and its development deal with Working Title."

Till commented: "I count Tiger Aspect as by far and away the UK's leading independent TV production company. I also have immense respect for Peter as one of the industry's most capable and, uniquely, most honourable, senior players and both qualities make me excited at the prospect of working with them."
