Japanese distributor Toho-Towa has announced its upcoming slate of Universal Pictures releases.

As previously announced, the third film in the Bourne trilogy, The Bourne Ultimatum, will be the first Universal release through Toho-Towa, the foreign film distribution arm of Toho Studios. Bourne will be released in November 2007, three months after its US bow.

The remaining titles are scheduled for 2008 releases and include Mr. Bean's Holiday, Atonement starring Keira Knightley, Ridley Scott's American Gangster starring Denzel Washington and Russell Crowe, and Charlie Wilson's War starring Tom Hanks and Julia Roberts.

In 2009, Toho-Towa will release Universal titles including Mamma Mia! and horror remakes The Wolfman, The Changeling and The Birds.

Universal announced its withdrawal from UIP Japan and its newly formed partnership with Toho-Towa in February this year. UIP Japan still handles title for Paramount, including the upcoming Transformers (Aug 4).

Founded in 1928, Toho-Towa is Japan 's oldest distributor of imported films. Recent releases include Marie Antoinette, Black Dahlia and Mr. & Mrs. Smith.
