Tom Sherak has resigned as chairman of Fox Filmed Entertainment's US film group to join former Walt Disney Co film chief Joe Roth at Roth's start-up production outfit Revolution Studios.

Sherak is to include film development and production in his brief at Revolution alongsdie marketing and distribution. He will be a partner in the company.

Sherak, a 17-year veteran of Fox, oversaw film distribution and marketing at the US studio. He handled films including Die Hard, Alien and Romancing The Stone.
