New Spanish production company LaZona Films, launched in January, has unveiled its first slate of films featuring some of the talent behind the biggest Spanish box office hits of recent years.

With Or Without Love is to be written and directed by David Serrano, who scripted Spain's top grossing film last year, The Other Side Of The Bed. Like Bed, Love is a musical comedy. Set to shoot in June 2004, the film marks Serrano's second feature as director following forthcoming comedy Days Of Football.

LaZona's second project being readied for a 2004 shoot is another comedy, At Home With A Neanderthal, from writers Joaquin Andujar, who scripted local 2003 box office hit Moscow Gold, and Jose Antonio Jimenez. No director is yet attached.

LaZona was set up in January by three partners: Douglas Wilson, Ignacio Salazar-Simpson and Gonzalo Salazar-Simpson. Other projects in development include romantic comedy Option D for Ignacio Salazar-Simpson to direct; urban action drama The Fast Boys from writer Javier Gullon, and an untitled horror project from The Devil's Backbone co-writers David Munoz and Antonio Trashorras.
