Film Makers Ireland (FMI) has announced the appointment of Tracy Geraghty as the new Director of the association.

Until recently, Geraghty has been programme manager with North by Northwest, the Denmark-based script development programme supported by the MEDIA Programme. Prior to that she had worked with Eurimages and with the Irish Film Board.

Commenting on her appointment Geraghty said, "I am delighted to take up the challenging role of director of Film Makers Ireland. I look forward to continuing and strengthening FMI's role within the film and television sector through open, energetic and pro-active dialogue with all other agencies"

David Collins, chairman of Film Makers Ireland welcomed her appointment saying, "Tracy brings a breadth and depth of European experience to her new role and we are looking forward to her building on the achievements of FMI over the last three years."

Film Makers Ireland is the trade association for 250 feature film, TV and animation production companies in Ireland.
