Tropfest@Tribeca, the short festival created as a collaboration between Tribeca Enterprises and Australia's Tropfest, took place on Sunday night at the World Financial Center Plaza in New York City. 7,500 people attended the event which screened 16 films in the competition, all made specifically for the festival and all under seven minutes long.

Of the films which had the signature word 'slice' in them, Belinda King won the Target Filmmaker Award for her film The Picnic. King, from Australia herself, won an unrestricted cash prize of $10,000 and a trip for two to Australia.

The jury consisted of actors Josh Lucas and Rose Byrne, film-makers Griffin Dunne, Bennett Miller, Mary Harron and Tom McCarthy and last year's winner Matthew Bonifacio.

At the festival, John Polson, who founded Tropfest, announced that the 2008 Tropfest@Tribeca signature word is 'Sunflower.'
