Provenance Films stormed to victory for the second year running at the annual film industry five aside football event, which took place at Millwall football stadium in London on Sunday.

Provenance Films, with the help of actor and occasional semi-pro footballer Ralf Little, defeated Paramount Stars 1 – 0 in the final.

22 film industry teams, including squads from Lionsgate, Icon, Universal, Optimum, UKFC and, yes, Screen International, battled it out at the Championship stadium.

Staged every year, the tournament raises money for Action for Children, which supports neglected young people across the UK.  Yesterday’s event raised more than £26,000 for the cause.

Stewart Till, Chair of Icon UK Group and Chair of the FIFE Board who organise the event said: “Once again it was a fantastic day. The sun shone, the football flowed and most importantly of all we raised a lot of money for a fantastic charity, Action for Children.”

As for Screen’s team, the squad posted a marked improvement on last year’s embarrassing total of one point, reaching the quarter finals, only to wilt under the pressure of penalties, losing to Paramount All Stars.

Provenance were not to be denied, however. Any team who turns out in Barcelona colours has to walk the walk…and they did, once again.
