UK producers body PACT has appointed Ronnie Planalp as director of film following Bertrand Moullier's exit earlier this year.

Planalp was formerly EMI's senior vice president of new media/business development, Europe. She will have overall responsibility for PACT's film strategy, working with the PACT executive team, the PACT film policy group and Margaret Matheson, vice chair of film for PACT and managing director of Bard Entertainments.

'Ronnie's extensive experience in the entertainment industry, coupled with her strong background in finance and business development will inject fresh thinking into PACT's film initiatives and the UK film debate as a whole,' said Matheson.

'Having already undergone radical change, the industry faces more over the next 18 months and PACT will be at the heart of the debate. Ronnie will be working with PACT'[s film members to develop a range of policies and ideas.'

Planalp's previous posts include senior director, business development for Excite Europe and vice president at Goldman, Sachs & Co, based in New York.
