Universal Pictures International Entertainment, NBC Universal International Television Distribution have signed agreements for new download-to-own offerings and renewed VOD offerings through Germany's T-Com and it's T-Online VOD, T-Home and IPTV service.

This makes T-Com the first retailer offering studio content as secure download-to-burn in Germany. The service will launch in the second quarter of 2007, and consumers will get two copies of the films to watch on their PC and portable devices. A third file can be burnt once to a secure DVD. An initial 100 titles will be offered as DTO including Jarhead, Inside Man and The Fast And The Furious: Tokyo Drift.

Most titles will be offered day and date with their DVD release.

The VOD agreement will continue to offer NBC Universal feature films, building on a relationship first struck in 2003.

'We are proud to continue our strategy of being a leader in the international digital download space, having been the first studio internationally to offer major movie content via a secure-burn DTO service in Australia in November 2006,' said Eddie Cunningham, president of Universal Pictures International Entertainment. 'We are delighted to extend our leadership position in partnership with T-Com in Germany with such a pioneering, flexible and convenient download service for consumers.'
