Universal has renewed its ties with Working Title's Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner for another seven years, the studio confirmed. Bevan and Fellner launched the UK powerhouse production company in 1992 and joined forces with Universal starting in 1999. Their current contract had been due to expire at the end of 2007.

'We are extremely pleased to announce this agreement with Working Title, one of our most valued producing partners and a unique voice in filmmaking throughout the world,' said Marc Shmuger & David Linde, chairman and co-chairman, respectively, of Universal Pictures. 'This seven-year commitment is a testament to the strength of the partnership between Working Title and Universal, and reflects our immense regard for Tim, Eric and their team.'

Last year, the companies worked together on films including United 93 and Catch A Fire. Forthcoming projects include Elizabeth sequel The Golden Age, Bean 2, Shaun Of The Dead follow-up Hot Fuzz and Joe Wright's Atonement starring Keira Knightley and James McAvoy.
